After the harsh snowy winter came a unusually hot March weekend which marked the beginning of a tough schedule for the SJ Barons 17 Boys, the first tournament being the MSSL/MAPS Spring challenge at Rider University.
The Boys got their season of to a great start as they swept away all opponents and went undefeated in 5 games. With a grueling schedule of 5 games in 2 the team came out in a new look system which helped them concede 0 goals in 5 games with the teams keeper, Vince Wilson only having to make two saves (one being a penalty save in the finals shootout) over the two days. The team showed great defensive discipline in their new system both defending and when going forward, with a great team effort and some outstanding individual displays throughout all the games.
The result should help the lads improve upon their current #13 ranking in the state.
